The Shark Beneath the Waves
I am alone
I’m in the man cave
And I am filled with rage
A younger man
Would let it loose
Like a shark without a cage.
I swelled with inner dialogue
Waves crashing into shore
An older man,
I sat like sand
Not needing any more.
Waves crashing above me
Silent without the air
What is the need, Dear Anger?
There’s nothing here to snare.
I watched the waves for hours
The predator made no peep
I picked that shark up off the sand
That baby was asleep.
