Turn around and he’s two

Turn around and he’s off to school
Dorm on first floor.

Soccer ball head
Always a foot
Dribbling dribbling
Near mom under foot

Drive him here
Drive him there
Watch him while
He flips his hair.

I just want to die sometimes
And give into the night.
I wonder what he learned  
From me each and every night.

Eighteen years
It was a dream
And now he is a man.
Now I’m old My work is done
I’ve given all I can.

There are two more?
Then I’m young again.
